My initial plan was to get the XR1 and if I did well, and enjoyed it, and saw a reason to upgrade I would, but honestly Im not sure there's a reason to upgrade since the XR1 does everything I need. But don't have a single negative thing to say about the XR1 Lite.

I still capture my Xbox Gameplay with it when I'm not gaming on PC and it's worked like a dream, no glitches, issues and idk why or how but I've managed to be able to get game chat and party chat to broadcast over stream which is something a lot of people seem to struggle with, dunno if it's because of the capture card they're using or settings or I'm just lucky. Was about 1/3rd of the price of the Elgato, had the same output (1080P 60FPS output to stream or recording, with 4K 60FPS passthrough) and "Certified for OBS" (not sure what that means exactly or if it's an endorsement from OBS) and it's worked flawlessly. I opted to go with the EVGA XR1 Lite from Amazon.

For instance I started a month or two ago, and I too almost bought the HD60S+ but at about $180 plus tax was a lot of money for something I was just getting into. Honestly if it's something you're new to and want to try without investing a huge amount I recommend getting a cheaper capture card and using that to start.
